Electric Vehicle Charge Point Grants

The Government Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) offers grants to support the wider use of electric and hybrid vehicles via accredited partner organisations like Clenergy.

There three main infrastructure grants:

 

Electric Vehicle Home Charge Scheme (EVHS) Grant

The OLEV grant provides £500 towards the cost of your Home Charger as long as you meet its criteria. 

​Criteria

  • You have dedicated off-street parking.
  • Your electric plug-in vehicle was purchased after April 2015.
  • You have not previously claimed the grant for your vehicle.
  • Maximum of two OLEV funded charges per household.
  • You must use an OLEV approved charger
  • The charger must be installed by a approved OLEV installer.

 

Electric Vehicle Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) Grant

The OLEV grant provides up to £10,000 towards the cost of your business workplace chargers as long as you meet its criteria. 

​Criteria

  • You have dedicated off-street parking.
  • Up to a maximum of 75% of the installed cost (capped at £500 per socket)
  • Up to a maximum of 20 sockets
  • Must show a need for for the business
  • You must use an OLEV approved charger
  • The charger must be installed by a approved OLEV installer.

 

On-Street Residential Charge-point Scheme

The OLEV grant has allocated funds of £4.5m for 2018/19 and is allocated to Local Authorities on a first come first serve basis. The scheme provides up to 75% of the installed costs of on-street residential charge points with a maximum value of £7,500 per charge point and £100,000 per scheme.
